01. Overview & Commitment to Privacy

At V-Air Ops, we prioritize the protection and privacy of our pilot community and virtual airline managers. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, process, store, and safeguard your personal information and flight simulation telemetry data.

We design our systems to adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and global privacy standards.

02. Information We Collect

Account & Profile Data

Email address, pilot callsign, display name, password hash (bcrypt), active airline memberships, and optional Discord user ID for role synchronization.

ACARS & Sim Telemetry

Flight coordinates (latitude/longitude), pressure altitude, pitch, bank, groundspeed, touchdown sink rate (FPM), fuel burn, and simulator version (MSFS/X-Plane/P3D).

03. How We Use Your Data

  • Flight Dispatch & ACARS Radar: Calculating flight plan routes via SimBrief, displaying live aircraft positions on global radar maps, and generating post-flight PIREPs.
  • Virtual Airline Operations: Auditing pilot flight hours, awarding rank progression, type ratings, and generating pilot stats.
  • Platform Security & Analytics: Preventing unauthorized API access, monitoring server health, and optimizing low-latency telemetry streams.

04. Cookies & Telemetry Storage

We use essential cookies (vops_session, XSRF-TOKEN) for secure authentication and CSRF protection. Optional analytics and functional preferences (such as live map zoom levels and telemetry diagnostics) can be customized anytime via our built-in Cookie Consent Banner.

05. Data Subject Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You maintain full ownership of your personal data. Under applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Right of Access & Export: Download a full archive of your registered profile and PIREP flight logs from your Account Settings.
  • Right to Rectification: Edit your profile details, callsign, and connected third-party accounts at any time.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request full deletion of your account and disassociation of flight records directly from your profile console or by contacting support.

06. Third-Party Data Sharing

V-Air Ops does NOT sell, rent, or monetize your personal data to third parties. Data is shared with third-party service providers solely to perform requested flight operations (e.g. SimBrief for OFP generation, Nominatim/CARTO for airport geocoding, Google Analytics for performance monitoring).

Strictly Necessary Cookies Always Active

Essential for basic platform navigation, user authentication (vops_session, XSRF-TOKEN), secure CSRF protection, and virtual airline tenant routing. These cannot be switched off.

Functional & UI Preferences

Remembers your selected Virtual Airline switcher view, interface theme parameters, live radar map center coordinates/zoom level, and audio alert sound preferences.

ACARS Telemetry & Diagnostics

Allows anonymized telemetry performance metrics, landing rate touchdown diagnostic logs, and ACARS ping latency statistics to help us optimize flight tracking speed and prevent sim stuttering.

External Flight Services Integration

Enables cached integrations for SimBrief OFP flight plans, VATSIM / IVAO pilot status checks, and AirLabs worldwide route data caching.
